Benito “Benny” Morales of Passaic, NJ age 85, entered eternal rest surrounded by his family in Winston Salem, NC on Monday, October 11, 2021, after a valiant long battle with Prostate Cancer. “He fought a good fight, he kept the faith, and he won the race! He was born on April 3, 1936 in Humacao, PR. He was the son of the late Genoveva Nieves and Casimiro Morales. He came to live in Paterson, NJ at the age of 18. He later established residence in Passaic, NJ. Mr. Morales worked for Weston Biscuits for many years and then worked for Pfizer Inc. until retiring in 1998. After retiring he moved to Kernersville, NC. Mr. Morales was passionate with cars and you could always find him underneath the hood of his cars. He was also an avid Schwinn Bike Collector, many of which he himself built. Aside from being mechanically inclined; he was always athletic as a child and continued into his adult life. He loved sports; specifically softball, and belonged to many softball leagues including the company he worked for, Pfizer, Inc. He competed in the National Senior Games in Cleveland, Ohio in 2013 where his team won. Benny played softball up to the age of 82. Benny was best known for his witty humor and practical jokes. He was very detailed when he would speak and had a knack for remembering names and dates of occurrences. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. Mr. Morales was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Genoveva Nieves, father, Casimiro Morales, sister, Ruth Pagan, sister, Juana Morales, sister Martina Nunez and son, John Morales. He is survived by his life long companion, Norma Hernandez, his daughters, Debra A. Morales-Martinez, Virginia-Morales Caraballo, Brenda Morales and Rosemary Morales. 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Alvarez, 66 Passaic Avenue, Passaic, NJ 07055. Cremation is private.
