Alicia Troche Caraballo

Alicia Troche Caraballo (88) of Passaic, passed away peacefully on July 2nd, 2024.

Alicia was born on September 6, 1935, in Yauco Puerto Rico, to Juan Troche and Palmira Caraballo.

A trailblazer and dedicated entrepreneur, Alicia founded several businesses including the legendary Alicia’s Bar. Where many had the opportunity not only to spend time with Alicia but also get to know her.

Despite the demands of her job, Alicia’s greatest joy and proudest achievement was being a devoted mother to her 6 children. Carmen (Sally), Ferdinand (Freddy), Alicia (Lissy), Antonio (Papote), William (Willie) and Patricia (Tuty). She balanced her professional life with her role as a mother with grace and determination, always putting her children’s needs first and ensuring they felt loved and supported.

Alicia was known for her love of life, her great laughter, sharp intellect and her fierce game of dominos. She immensely enjoyed spending time with family, friends, The Puerto Rican Council and the Lajas Social Club community.

Alicia is survived by 8 siblings, 5 children, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Alicia’s unwavering dedication to her family along with her kind heart and invincible spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 6th, 2024 from 4:00pm-8:00pm in Funeraria Alvarez, 66 Passaic Avenue, Passaic NJ. Burial will take place in Cementerio Municipal de Yauco, Puerto Rico.
