Aurea Ramos

Aurea Ramos, born on August 24, 1935, in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, passed away on July 10, 2025, at the age of 89. She was a devoted mother to Luis, Sylvia, Nelson, and Reynaldo. Aurea lived for many years in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico before moving to New Jersey, where she helped raise her two granddaughters.

She was a grandmother, great-grandmother, and the widow of a U.S. veteran. Aurea will be remembered for her quiet strength, her lifelong dedication to family, and the steady presence she provided to those around her.

Fun Facts:

Aurea once legally changed her name to Aurelia because that was the name everyone used for her—only to later return to her given name, Aurea. She was ambidextrous, though she preferred to write with her left hand—an uncommon trait that reflected her resilience and adaptability.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
