Candido Diaz

Candido Diaz (76) of Clifton, passed away on Wednesday, March 16th, 2016. He was born in Naguabo, Puerto Rico on October 3rd, 1936. Candido was the devoted son of Victor Diaz and Rufina Diaz (nee Vazquez). He was the youngest of eight children. In the late 1940s, his family emigrated to New York City. Eventually, the family settled in Bronx, NY. Candido graduated from Bronx Vocational High School. He was known by family and friends for being a jokester; and, later in life he became a very devout Christian. He was an excellent father to his children, and he was always very loving and caring. He devoted the latter part of his life to caring for his daughter and volunteering for various evangelical Christian causes. Candido was the beloved husband for 40 years to Gladys (nee Isidor), before her passing in 2007. Loving father to Omar (Amy) Diaz, 47 years old and Cynthia Diaz, 45 years old; proud grandfather to Caleb Diaz, a freshman at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and to Carolina Diaz, an eighth grader in Scullen Middle School in Naperville, Illinois. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016 from 4:00pm-9:00pm in Funeraria Alvarez, 66 Passaic Avenue, Passaic NJ. Burial will take place on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016 at 11:30am in All Saints' Cemetery, 855 Middle Neck Road, Great Neck NY.
