Carlos Vargas Rodriguez

Dr. Carlos Vargas Rodgriguez "Tao" (76) of Passaic, passed away on Thursday, July 3rd, 2014. He was a loving husband to Maria Dolores Ramos de Vargas, adored Father of Carlos Vargas Ramos, Maria Vargas DeStefano, Nuria Alvarez and Clara Fox, and caring grandfather of Lucia, Victoria, Alexander, and Andrew. Dr. Vargas Rodriguez was a treasured brother and brother-in-law, and dedicated son and uncle and all around family man. He leaves behind family and friends in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and Spain to cherish his wonderful spirit forever. He was kind, loving passionate and compassionate. From early on when he played to heal his sister's dolls to bringing hundreds of kids to this world as a doctor. Carlos loved life, beauty, art, music, fashion, food, nature, family and friends. He would give to others selflessly things he may of need or wanted. As a friend he would go out of his way to treat you, figure out what you may need or want, and manage to surprise you. Big or small he would make it happen tirelessly. As a father there are millions of ways that he demonstrated his selflessness. He would think of his children's needs first. As kids he taught us to celebrate each and everyday in small and big ways from waking us up to go to school singing "Oh what a beautiful morning" to taking us to see live musical theater and enjoy the most special things in life. He encouraged us to discover the world and for all of that we will forever be grateful. His grand-kids smile when they hear his name and they love to hear the infinite anecdotes about abuelo and of course we all looked forward to what surprises may be in the mail: collages, books that celebrate our lives, paintings, prayers, or the sweetest letters written from the heart to share his kindness and wisdom. Across continents his family and friends have been touched by him. His life had truly made a difference in the world so he can now rest in peace.
