Daisy C Hinton

Daisy C. Hinton (100) of Paterson, passed away on December 24th, 2022 after a brief illness at Holy Name Medical Center, Teaneck NJ. Born in Sudlersville, Queen Anne's County, Maryland to the late Dennis Taylor and Helen Taylor (nee Thomas).

She was raised in Neptune, NJ, where she received her education. She married the late Floyd "Tookie" Hinton on October 10th, 1955, at the age of thirty-one, and moved to Paterson, NJ, where she remained until her death.

Daisy was the matriarch of her family that instilled strong values, a work ethic, and creative talents in her children and grandchildren. Pre-deceased by her husband Floyd "Tookie" Hinton (7/4/1979). She leaves to cherish her memory two sons: Gary F. Hinton of Paterson NJ, the late Charles R. Taylor of Seattle, WA, and five daughters: Vanessa Hinton of Maryland, Joann M. Claxton of Atlanta, GA, Diane Rochester of Philadelphia, PA, Helen L. Taylor of Florida, and Marguerite Taylor of Florida; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She often shared her passion for creating culinary cuisine, hosting events, and her original fashion designs with church members and community organizations. We are blessed to have had her in our lives. She has left an indelible mark on our family. Though she is gone, her 100 years here were filled with love, and its is comforting to know she is now an angel watching over us.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5th, 2023 from 2:00pm-6:00pm in Funeraria Alvarez, 66 Passaic Avenue, Passaic NJ. Burial will take place on Friday, January 6th, 2023 at 10:45am in Mount Holiness Memorial Park, 1 Brown Ave, Butler NJ.
