January 17, 1986 – February 20, 2026
Passaic, NJ — The city of Passaic lost a legend on February 20, 2026. David Anael Hung, a man of profound faith, a visionary entrepreneur, and the cornerstone of his family, passed away in New York, NY, at the age of 40.
Born on January 17, 1986, to Ramon David Hung and Reyna Polanco, David was a force of nature who built a legacy from the ground up. In 2007, he established Dynasty Barbershop, which grew into far more than a business—it became a pillar of culture, pride, and excellence. David didn’t just cut hair; he built confidence and mentored young men, providing them with wisdom and direction. To step into Dynasty was to walk out sharper, not just in appearance, but in mindset.
David’s life was fundamentally defined by his unapologetic love for Jesus Christ. Following a transformative conversion on September 12, 2011, he became a bold witness for the Gospel. For 15 years, he led a weekly Monday night Bible study at his barbershop for those who might not have felt comfortable in a traditional church setting. His faithfulness led his entire family to the Lord, culminating in the beautiful moment of his and his wife’s baptism.
A true servant-leader, David’s impact reached every corner of his community. Recognized by the Mayor of Passaic for his yearly commitment to giving back, David offered free services to those in need and quietly supported many others behind the scenes. He was a master of his craft, always striving to be the best, but his true highlight was his role at home. David was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a cherished son and brother. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Yankees, and bringing his family together for food and dancing.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Sanchez; his five children, David, Isabella, Nixon, Delilah, and Reyna Hung; his father, David Hung Sr.; his mother, Reyna Polanco; and his brothers, Samael, Sashariel, and Lingtsu Hung.
A king built his dynasty—and it will never fall. David’s name, his work, and the standard of excellence he set will live on forever.
