Domingo Santiago

Domingo Santiago (61) of Paterson, passed away on Friday, June 12th, 2020. Born in San German, Puerto Rico and raised in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico to Gumersindo Santiago Ramos and Eulalia Torres Cruz. Domingo was truly one in a million and the stars in the sky will shine brighter thanks to him. He and his wife, Maria C Santiago, have been together over 35 years and he was a husband like no other, always a friend to his wife and her greatest supporter. He always provided for his family always made sure they had everything they needed. He was a hard working man, working at Montclair State University since 2006 and always cared for them. He was an amazing father to his daughters, Leslie C Santiago and Lisbeth V Santiago, and he was always there for his daughters; always so proud of any and every accomplishment. He was an amazing friend, ready to help in any situation and always there with an ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on in times of need; a loving and caring son who would do anything for his mother always worrying about her and wanting the best for her; and a brother like no other to his sisters, Ivette Santiago, Salome Santiago, Blanca Cedeno, and brothers, Francisco Javier Cedeno, Hector Luis Cedeno, and Jorge Cedeno. Domingo always wanted to come to the rescue and protect, and was the biggest jokester who made everyone laugh. He was a lover, a provider, a comedian. He was hard headed and stubborn and so independent. Domingo will live on in the hearts of each and every person he touched. He will live on in the spirits of "as he would say" the two best things he ever made -- his daughter’s and his newly added to the family granddaughter. Mourn and grieve but please don’t do it for long! Celebrate his life laugh at the wonderful memories! I’m sure he left each and every one of you and if you drink have a cold Heineken in his honor with some salsa playing in the background that’s all he would want right now. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 17th, 2020 from 6:00pm-9:00pm in Funeraria Alvarez de Paterson, 267 Park Avenue, Paterson NJ. Cremation is private.
