Efrain Guzman Lopez

Efrain Guzman Lopez, 84, of Paterson, New Jersey, passed away on June 11, 2026. Born on September 10, 1941, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, he built a life defined by hard work, humility, and devotion to his family.

In the mid‑1960s, Efrain came to the United States and worked as a seasonal farmworker at Rodonis Farm in Litchfield, New Hampshire, part of a program that brought Puerto Rican workers to New England farms. He later lived in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, and ultimately New Jersey, where he spent more than four decades.

Efrain worked in manufacturing and became a supervisor at a shower door company in Paterson and Little Falls. He was also a skilled handyman and carpenter, known for his generosity and craftsmanship.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Ada Lopez, and his children Efrain Lopez Jr., Reynaldo Lopez, Madelyn Perez, Jose (Maico) Lopez, Wilfredo Lopez, and Ana Lopez, along with 34 grandchildren, 50 great‑grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and extended family. He was preceded in death by his sons Angel Lopez and Luis Felipe Lopez.

He will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and unwavering love for his family.

Services for Mr. Lopez will be held at Alvarez Funeraria Inc, located at 66 Passaic Avenue, Passaic, NJ 07055. Visitation is scheduled for June 18, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and will continue on June 19, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The burial service will take place on June 19, 2026, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Laurel Grove Cemetery, 295 Totowa Road, Totowa, NJ 07512.
