Floyd Robert Sanderlin (84) of Passaic, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 7th, 2017 at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center. Born in Passaic, NJ on September 22, 1932 to William Sanderlin and Edith Byard. He is survived by his wife, Mary C. Sanderlin (nee Walker); three children, Irene Hill, Darlene Hillgrove, and Kevin Hillgrove; and two sisters, Norma Mann and Lillian Roseborough. He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren, Sherine Aziz, Gemelle Jenkins, Floydise Paquette, Chalise Hill, John May, Jamal Hillgrove, and Tousaint Hillgrove; ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Floyd was a professional barber on Central Avenue in Passaic NJ, and a deacon of Second Timothy Baptist Church. He worked at Passaic High School, Fairleigh Dickinson University, as well as served his country in World War II. He enjoyed going to the racetrack, and he was dedicated to praying and visiting the sick and shut-ins. He also loved visiting family and friends. Floyd leaves to celebrate his memory with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was loved by everyone and had a joyful sense of humor. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11th, 2017 from 5:00pm-9:00pm in Funeraria Alvarez, 66 Passaic Avenue, Passaic NJ. Burial will take place on Wednesday, February 15th, 2017 at 2:30pm in B.G. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ.
