Gloria E. Diaz

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Gloria E. Diaz, who transitioned peacefully on Wednesday, July 30th, 2025, in her home in Passaic. She leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of friendship

Born on March 3rd, 1950, in Yabucoa Puerto Rico to Parents Jesus Diaz & Carmen Ortiz – Camareno & raised together with the love & guidance of her Stepfather Marcelo Camareno (Daddy) she was the youngest of 5 Siblings.

Gloria spent her early years in Puerto Rico, coming to NJ when she was 10 yrs old, the family moved around a bit but always came back to Passaic. Our hometown, where she created many lasting memories. She was a business owner before getting ill and not being able to continue working. She loved to cook, listening to music & having her family all together for any occasion or no occasion was by far her favorite thing to do.

Gloria was an amazing daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, friend…. But most of all she was an exceptional mother & an even better grandmother & great grandmother.

Preceded by her loving son Heriberto Colon Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her sisters: Sylvia Diaz, and Esmeralda Diaz-Torres, her living children Carmen Colon-Lopez, Emanuel Viera, Heriberto Colon III, her eight grandchildren Ashley, Jessica, Alyson, Evin, Melinda, Isys, Ailanie, Ikylez. Twelve great grandchildren Adyson, Heriberto IV, Julian, Natalia, Nicholas, Emily, Antonio, Izabella, Ayden, Syx, Sevyn, Leonardo.

In addition to her extended family, Gloria is survived by her aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends that she formed close bonds with during her lifetime.
