Gloria Rodriguez

Gloria Rodriguez (nee Merced), of Garfield, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2017, on her 76th birthday. Gloria was born and raised in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico. She moved to Passaic in 1963 before moving to Garfield 23 years ago. Gloria is predeceased by her brothers, Benjamin, Angelo, Cecilio, Delsin, sisters, Carmen Falcon and Alfrida Cintron. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Santos; daughter, Madelaine Alarcon and her husband Orlando; sons, Angel Rodriguez and companion Sarah Vasquez, and Wayne Rodriguez and wife Joanne; grandchildren, Angel Rodriguez Jr., Karina and Ariana Rodriguez and Alexander Alarcon. Also survived by brothers, Victor, and Ralph; and sister Carmen La Luz. In the last few years of her life Gloria had an extremely close knit group of friends called “The Bingeras” or “The Bingo Ladies”, who loved to spend time together playing bingo. They shared good times, bad times, and humor together and that bond was cherished and treasured. Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 14th, 2017 from 5-9pm in Funeraria Alvarez, 66 Passaic Avenue, Passaic NJ. Interment will take place on Friday, September 15th, 2017 at 10:30am in Lodi Cemetery, Lodi NJ.
