Grace Sakyi-Gyimah (71) of Hackensack, passed away on November 1st, 2023. Born in Ghana to Samuel Sakyi and Agnes Otobea. Beloved wife of Nana Gyimah. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17th, 2023 from 5:00pm-9:00pm in Funeraria Alvarez, 66 Passaic Avenue, Passaic NJ. Burial will take place on Saturday, November 18th, 2023 at 10:30am in Crest Haven Memorial Park, 750 Passaic Avenue, Clifton NJ.

Abena Abrefi Sakyi was known for her love of family, in her entire life especially as a young adult. She organized all family and friends events, such as birthdays, weddings and general social events.
Abena Abrefi Sakyi was born October 17, 1952 to Samuel K. Sakyi and Glays Dodoo in Kumati, Ghana. She was the third child in a family of ten. She excelled in cooking and was famous for her pastries, which she learned from her mother. She was educated at All Saints Anglican School and later on at Adonteng Secondary
School (Abmu). After her secondary school education, she trained as a pastry chef at the Continental Hotel in Accura. At this time she, she started dating, Nana Yaw Gyimah, a police officer.
She got married after her training and had two boys, (Nano and Okoampa Gyimah) with her husband. Her love of family and friends had her in the midst of all social events. She was always called to help organize events for everybody. She followed her husband, Nana Yaw Gyimah to the United States in
June of 2001 and settled in Hackensack, New Jersey. While in the United States, she trained as a certified nurse Assistant (CNA). She worked as a nursing aide at the Prospect Heights subsidiary of Hackensack
Hospital. She worked there for 19 years. She fell sick around June of 2020 and was later diagnosed with breast cancer from which she never recovered. She passed on the 31st of October 2023 at
Hackensack Hospital in Hackensack, New Jersey. Her life was wellived but cut short by the terminal disease.
