Hector Tavarez

Hector O. Tavarez lovingly known as "Fellito" entered into eternal rest at the Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, Fl on June 8th, 2015 at the age of 69. Hector shared his journey in this life with his best friend, business partner and wife of 39 years, Dora Gentile Tavarez. Born in the Dominican Republic on November 22nd in 1945, Hector grew up in the Carribbean and earned a Bachelors Degree in Printing and Graphic Arts. As a young man he later immigrated to the United States where he later became an American Citizen. Although a college graduate, his highest accomplishments were the guidance and unconditional love he provided to his children Richard, Tanya, Lisa, and Brian and the legacy he extended to his grandchildren Ricky, Gisselle and great grandchildren Gianna and Leilani. Hector's charismatic smile welcomed all he encountered, counseled, and guided. He extended his fatherly advice and mentored many to their full potential. As a successful entrepreneur for over 35 years, he received recognition in the city of Newark for his sponsorship of local basketball leagues. Hector and Dora's passion for politics made them supporters in their hometown of Passaic, NJ. His infinite loyalty to his New York Yankees, and beloved faithful companions chihuahuas Bella, Luna, and Frijolito are what provide him comfort during these last trying months. In this time of grief he never wanted any pain or sadness for his loved ones. He always wanted his family to live in laughter and reminded his wife...until the end. "Amore, Take it easy" Join us in the celebration of his life. Services to be held at Funeraria Alvarez, 66 Passaic Avenue, Passaic NJ 07055. Vigil to be held Friday June 12th 5:00PM - 9:00PM. Funeral to be held Saturday June 13th 9:00AM-10:00AM. Burial will follow the funeral service at 10:30AM in East Ridgelawn Cemetery, 255 Main Avenue, Clifton, NJ 07011.
