Jacoba Nieves

Jacoba Nieves, formerly known as Jacoba Clorinda Suarez Alejos, 82, of Paterson NJ, passed away on Friday, January 17th 2020 in Paterson, New Jersey. She was the companion of Jose Santiago Barraza. Born on July 25th of the year 1937 in Lima, Peru, she was the daughter of Rosa Alejos and Arcadio Suarez. She graduated from Mercedes Cabello in Lima, Peru. She was a member of Los Hermanos del Señor de Los Milagros. She enjoyed designing clothes, arts and crafts, and spending time with loved ones. She immigrated to the United States in 1971 with her four children. She was a woman that throughout the years had always been not only generous towards her children, but also always kind, gentle, and helped others anyway she possibly could. She will be remembered for her humbleness, resilience, bravery, and loving soul. She is survived by her children Arturo Arcadio Romero Suarez, Rita Aurelia Barraza Suarez de Lopez, Jose Luis Barraza Suarez, and Estrella Morayma Barraza Suarez. Her legacy lives on through her beloved children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday. January 21st 2020 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM at Funeraria Alvarez de Paterson located at 267 Park Avenue Paterson, NJ 07513. The burial will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2020 at 10:30am at the Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery & Mausoleum located at 22-21 Maple Avenue, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410.
