Judith Gonzalez

Judith Gonzalez (83) of Belleville, passed away on September 24th, 2023. Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to Pedro Ramos and Adelina Roman.

On August 6, 1955, she married Israel Gonzalez, who she often referred to as "the love of her life." Together they bore and raised four daughters, Mildred, Nancy, Rosa & Migdalia. In 1957 they immigrated to New York where they remained until Israel's homegoing in April of 2008.

Judith returned to her homeland of Puerto Rico where she lived from 2008 till 2014 when she returned to the states. She was a gifted seamstress and could often be found at her sewing machine creating wardrobes for her four daughters and her granddaughters. She also loved to embroider and crochet, and it was her

great joy to crochet baby blankets for every baby born into the family. Judith was also an incredible cook, and her home was a gathering place for family and friends for many holidays, birthdays and "any day"

celebrations. Judith was also a loving grandmother to Ralph, Jeremiah, Aisha, Nathaniel, Rachael, Jonathan, Victor, Devin and Precious and great-grandmother to Alex, Kiara, Sophia, Analise, Natalie, Leeya, Amanda &

Isabella.

Judith was unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord after a long bout of illness followed by a miraculous recovery at One Care Rehab in Teaneck, New Jersey, where she spent her last days playing bingo, singing Karaoke, and laughing with her roommate Ms. Anna.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; son-in-laws, Felix Perez and Timothy Albert; her sister Maria Ramos; Brother-in-law's, Hector Ramos, Ismael Gonzalez and his wife

Delia; Sister-in-law, Miriam Rivera; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends that were touched by her life.

We loved you Mami, but God loved you more! Rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord!

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28th, 2023 from 5:00pm-9:00pm in Funeraria Alvarez, 66 Passaic Avenue, Passaic NJ. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 29th, 2023 at 10:00am in St. Nicholas Church, 153 Washington Place, Passaic NJ. Burial, to follow, at 12:45pm in St. Raymond's Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Ave, Bronx NY.
