Maricela Izelo Daniel

Before anything, Maricela would describe herself as a woman of God, mother, and wife.

Although she was all these things, she was so much more. She was an independent, charming, witty, and intelligent woman.

Growing up, she strived in education and was career-driven to make it out of her hometown. She worked as a secretary in Mexico, which shaped her mind to work in the way she continued to for the rest of her life: organized, precise, and with purpose.

Maricela has always said that she wants the best for herself and her future. Her heart along with her love grew when she become pregnant with her firstborn-daughter, Adriana, sacrificing the life she had in Mexico to secure the American dream for her in California.

As time went on, coming back to Mexico, Maricela fell in love with her future husband, Ramiro. She became pregnant with her second daughter, Lizbeth. The two decided to head for New Jersey, in hopes of a new beginning for their two daughters.

Adjusting to the United States is challenging for many. Maricela often dreamt she was still in Mexico, along with the friends and family she had left behind. She eventually sacrificed her work lifestyle to become a stay-at-home mother. She later gave birth to another daughter, Marisol, and her youngest son, Michael.

Despite not going to work the traditional 9-5, Maricela worked other side jobs to contribute to her family. She always encouraged her children to be productive. From walking miles with her daughter Lizbeth, to later conquering her fear and learning to drive, she enjoyed her outings with her kids even for the little stuff, such as running errands and shopping.

Maricela’s love for her children was undeniable. When her son fell ill in 2016, she spent the next few years being by his side in-and-out of hospitals, appointments, surgeries, and home care. Despite this battle, Maricela continued to show up for her other children.

Throughout her life in the United States, Maricela slowly began to think of Passaic, New Jersey as her home. Cementing memories with her family, establishing her favorite shopping places, and the walks in the parks, she loved to follow her routine and drive around in her car as her family called, “el chiquitin”.

Maricela rooted her life in Christianity and her love for God was undoubtedly shown through how she lived her life. She lived selflessly, anyone who knew her knows her love language was acts of service. She always offered a helping hand and guidance, showing the way of God to others through her example.

Maricela’s presence will be missed. Her funny banter with the family dog, Milo, whom she secretly loved. Her cooking after school and after work on the weekdays. The afternoon outings to Kohls to take advantage of a discount she’d received. The walks in the park. The weekends she’d wake her kids up early to clean the whole house. Her stubbornness. Her advice on life problems. Her nightly texts, asking when her daughters would be home from a hangout.

Ultimately, her compassion that she proved everyday. Her memories live on in each one of her loved ones.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 31st, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Alvarez, 66 Passaic Ave, Passaic, NJ 07055. A second visitation will be held Saturday, August 1st, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Funeraria Alvarez followed by a burial at 10:30AM in East Ridgelawn Cemetery located at 255 Main Ave, Clifton, NJ 07014

Maricela se describía a sí misma como una mujer de fe, madre y esposa.

Aunque era todo eso, era mucho más. Era una mujer independiente, encantadora, ingeniosa e inteligente.

Desde joven, se esforzó en sus estudios y se orientó hacia una carrera profesional para salir adelante en su ciudad natal. Trabajó como secretaria en México, lo que la impulsó a trabajar de la manera en que lo haría el resto de su vida: organizada, precisa y con propósito.

Maricela siempre ha dicho que desea lo mejor para sí misma y para su futuro. Su corazón, junto con su amor, creció cuando quedó embarazada de su primogénita, Adriana, sacrificando la vida que tenía en México para asegurarle el sueño americano en California.

Con el tiempo, al regresar a México, Maricela se enamoró de quien sería su esposo, Ramiro. Quedó embarazada de su segunda hija, Lizbeth. La pareja decidió mudarse a Nueva Jersey, con la esperanza de un nuevo comienzo para sus dos hijas.

Adaptarse a Estados Unidos es un reto para muchos. Maricela soñaba que seguía en México, junto a los amigos y familiares que había dejado atrás. Finalmente, sacrificó su vida laboral para dedicarse al cuidado de sus hijos. Más tarde, dio a luz a otra hija, Marisol, y a su hijo menor, Michael.

A pesar de no tener un trabajo tradicional de 9 a 5, Maricela realizaba otros trabajos para contribuir al sustento de su familia. Siempre animó a sus hijos a ser productivos. Desde caminar kilómetros con su hija Lizbeth, hasta superar su miedo a conducir y aprender a manejar, disfrutaba de sus salidas con sus hijos incluso para las cosas más sencillas, como hacer recados e ir de compras.

El amor de Maricela por sus hijos era innegable. Cuando su hijo enfermó en 2016, pasó los siguientes años a su lado, entrando y saliendo de hospitales, citas médicas, cirugías y cuidados en casa. A pesar de esta lucha, Maricela siguió presente para sus otros hijos.

A lo largo de su vida en Estados Unidos, Maricela poco a poco empezó a considerar Passaic, Nueva Jersey, como su hogar. Creando recuerdos con su familia, descubriendo sus tiendas favoritas y disfrutando de los paseos por los parques, le encantaba seguir su rutina y pasear en su coche, al que su familia llamaba cariñosamente "el chiquitín".

Maricela basó su vida en el cristianismo y su amor por Dios se reflejaba sin duda en su forma de vivir. Vivía con generosidad; quienes la conocían sabían que su forma de demostrar amor eran los actos de servicio. Siempre ofrecía su ayuda y orientación, mostrando el camino de Dios a los demás con su ejemplo.

Se echará de menos la presencia de Maricela. Sus divertidas bromas con Milo, el perro de la familia, al que adoraba en secreto. Su comida después de clase y del trabajo entre semana. Las salidas por la tarde a Kohls para aprovechar los descuentos. Los paseos por el parque. Los fines de semana en los que despertaba a sus hijos temprano para limpiar toda la casa. Sus consejos sobre los problemas de la vida. Sus mensajes nocturnos preguntando cuándo regresarían sus hijas a la casa de sus salidas con amigos. En definitiva, la compasión que demostraba cada día. Su recuerdo se queda en cada uno de sus seres queridos.
