Mary Sanderlin

Mary Sanderlin (95) of Passaic, passed away on December 23rd, 2023. Born in Pamplin, VA to John Walker and Millie Walker (nee Woolridge). Pre-deceased by her husband Floyd Robert Sanderlin (2-7-2017). They were blesssed with 60 years of marriage, and a daughter, Irene Hill.

Also preceded her sisters Marie (Sis), Sophie, Alberta, Flossie, Audrey, Australia (Faye); and brothers, Early, Giles (Hen), Paul, Landon, Sam, James (Wood) and Walter (Rouse).

Honorable mention of her closest niece, Corinne Joyner, and cousins, Pauline Holcomb, Mabel Foster and Hattie Palmer.

She was the loving grandmother to Sherine Aziz. Gemelle Jenkins, Floydise Paquette, Chalise Hill

and John May IV. She was blessed with 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Sister Sanderlin was a co-founder of Second Timothy Baptist Church and was greatly known and appreciated for her gift of hospitality, both in the church and in her professional career as a nurse's assistant. Many families were blessed by her home-cooked meals which were a staple of fellowship in the church and in home gatherings. Her gift of leadership also made a tremendous impact and extended into her influential role for the Local Union 999 for many years.

She loved to sing and faithfully led the choir in worship during her tenure at Second Timothy. She leaves behind so many fond memories and we thank God for the blessing of her life.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2024 from 2:00pm-6:00pm in Funeraria Alvarez 66 Passaic Avenue, Passaic NJ. Burial will take place on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024 at 8:30am in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown NJ.
