Myra Darlene Moore Adams-Velez was born August 10, 1948 to the parents of Pearlie Moore, Jr., and Mary Ellen Braddock Green in Belhaven, North Carolina. On Thursday, December 29, 2016, she entered into God’s eternal rest. She was affectionately known as Peaches by family and many friends. Peaches was reared by her Paternal Grandparents, the late Pearlie Moore Sr. and Amye Griffin Moore in Pantego, North Carolina, along with cousins, Thomasine, Darnell, and Patricia. After her graduation from Beaufort County High School, Pantego, North Carolina, she attended North Carolina Central University, Durham, North Carolina. She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She joined her family home church, Weeping Mary Disciple Church of Christ, Pantego, North Carolina. Peaches loved to cook; she often received long distance phone calls for some of her recipes (Sweet Potato Pies, Meat Loaf). She appreciated a variety of music, and loved to sing and dance. She loved watching movies and a variety of game shows. She was a big fan of sports, especially football (New England Patriots). Peaches was a joyous person. She had such charisma that one had but to meet her to fill the love and joy that radiated from her. Her smile was infectious. Peaches appreciated the many people in her life. Her love and generosity was real and unwavering. Prior to retirement, Peaches was employed by Pfizer and also employed by Alcoa . Peaches leaves many cherish memories to: Husband, Harry Velez; Father, Pearlie Moore, Jr.; Mother, Mary Ellen Green; two sons, Michael Adams (Cassia), and Jemik Adams, Sr.; Four step-children, Harry Velez, Jr., Larry Ray Velez, Amber Velez and Jason Agresci; Six Grandchildren, Joshua, Christian, Jemik Jr., Talia, Caiden and Ayden; Three brothers, Antonio Green (Wyeetle), Andre Green, Sr. (Lisa), and Johnny Green (Dymon); Two sisters, Maria Myles and Gina Green (Darryl); Four aunts, Jenny Smith, Hazel Swindell, Patricia DeJorna, and Amye Lee Moore; one great aunt, Lina Brown. Also cherishing her memories is a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7th, 2017 from 1:00pm-4:00pm in Funeraria Alvarez, 66 Passaic Avenue, Passaic NJ. Cremation is private.
