Ramon Mieles Velasquez

Ramon Nicolas Mieles Velasquez was born in 1943 to Dr. Ramon Mieles and Mrs. Maria Velasquez de Mieles. At the age of 22 he decided to take an adventure and moved to North America from Quito, Ecuador, leaving behind his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. He started his journey residing at 43 State Street, Hackensack, NJ with his sister. He worked at Heidenberg Plaza (Closter, NJ) and St. Joe's Paper (Little Ferry, NJ). Soon after he found his niche working at Tension Envelope (Hackensack, NJ). Ramon Mieles was an avid reader, a passionate watcher of soccer games and enjoyed good meals. His favorite soccer ball team growing up was Aucas and recently his favorite soccer player was Messi. He retired after 30 years at Tension Envelope and resided in Passaic, NJ with his daughter Liliana Rodriguez. During his retired years he would take many walks to his favorite restaurant Venus and go to Delgado Travel to buy newspapers from abroad. He maintained abreast of all political and social occurrences happening back in his homeland of Ecuador. Ramon’s journey came to an end on November 15th at St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic, NJ. Surviving are two daughters, 12 grandchildren, one great grandchild and loving family in Ecuador. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 28th, 2017 from 10:00am-12:00pm in Funeraria Alvarez, 66 Passaic Avenue, Passaic NJ. Cremation is private.
