Reinaldo Arroyo Sr.

Reinaldo Arroyo Sr., 85, of Passaic, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving immediate family on Monday, May 12, 2025. He was born on September 15, 1939 in his patria, Rincon, Puerto Rico to parents, mother, Rosalia Acevedo and father, Segundo Arroyo. He was one of 11 siblings. He met his beloved wife Luz M. Arroyo, at the age of 16 years old while in elementary school. This year marked their 64th wedding anniversary. As one of the first Puerto Ricans to call Passaic home, in 1958, he resided for the majority of his life on “6th street” and worked for Prescot and The Passaic Housing Authority. His love and adoration for his Puerto Rican heritage led him to be a founding member of the infamous Rincon Social Club at various locations around the city. His inseparably bonded “Fab 5 Family” included: eldest daughter Nancy Esther Arroyo, Lucelenia “Luly” Arroyo, and Reinaldo “Tululo” Arroyo Jr., retired Passaic police detective. Also joining the family in 1992 would be his loving daughter-in-law, Maika Bonafe-Arroyo. He was so proud of being grandfather to his three beautiful grandchildren, Siarra Rosario, Lexi Estevez and Reinaldo Arroyo III while eventually adding to the extended family, two energetic fur grandbabies, “Ammo” and Shumani Arroyo. He valued quality time with his family and friends and his true passion…fishing. The family wishes to thank everyone for their unconditional outpouring of love.
